Release the gowns!! Our favourite Aussie Housewives are
officially back with what is promised to be the biggest season yet. So, let’s
get into it…
We were re-introduced to all of the Housewives and we all caught up with where they are now from the end of the last season. Gamble is planning her wedding; she wanted a Chinese theme but her stylist advised her against it, Pettifleur is back from a health retreat and hasn’t seen the rest of the girls in quite some time, Chyka is back from a European holiday with Bruce and has to lay down the law with her daughter Chessie when she discovers she took her car and left it with quite a scratch, Lydia is back from London where she spent time being an ambassador for the now defunct Shane Warne Foundation, Jackie is feeling the pressure from her loved ones to start a family with husband Ben, Gina has since dabbled in acting in long-running Australian soap Neighbours, has had a stint on The Celebrity Apprentice Australia, has a new personal assistant and is working on her own fragrance and according to Janet, as she continues to work on her tea line, she turned down a booty call from Shane Warne. Side note; I lost count of how many times Shane Warne was referenced in this episode so be aware you’ll be reading his name quite a few times.

Meet newest Real Housewife Susie. Image courtesy of Arena. |
Within a few minutes we were introduced to new girl Susie Mclean as Chyka hosted a book club with fellow Housewives Janet and Jackie in attendance. Susie is introduced as a fit single mum to two boys who has a somewhat unfavourable opinion on Lydia. Turns out that Lydia was the source of a few rumours that flew around at the end of Susie’s second marriage and Susie’s still not too happy about it. Cue the drama!! We get a glimpse into her home life with her two boys and so far I’m liking what I’m seeing. She seems to be a very “no-holds-barred” housewife, unafraid to give her opinion.
The storyline to start it all off was the little rumour that Lydia did the dirty with cricketer Shane Warne, which, of course, she denies. Susie however feels that Lydia is a little more involved than she leads people to believe saying she “absolutely” believes Lydia has a romantic interest in Mr. Warne. She even blatantly asks Lydia if they had sexual relations to which Lydia replied “No, last night I f***ed my husband”. Boom.
More drama ensued as Lydia and Janet sat down at Susie’s baking party to hash out their twitter feud in which Lydia referred to Janet as “grandma” and Janet called Lydia a “Lydiot”. The issue seemed to dissolve however when Gamble and Pettifleur got into their disagreement, with Pettifleur believing that Gamble was behind all of the legal drama she had to deal with regarding her book Switch The Bitch. Things got extremely heated between the girls, since Lydia told Gamble everything Pettifleur told her regarding Gamble including that Gamble met her fiancĂ© Rick on SugarDaddy.com (which if you haven’t googled already, you must) and the argument ended with Gamble storming out of the room exclaiming that Pettifleur could “get f***ed” and Susie standing, a little stunned in the doorway.
As we are given a glimpse in to what is in store for next week it’s easy to see that this won’t be Lydia’s season. From rumours about extra-marital affairs and the ladies seeming to be in agreement that they’re all a little displeased with her, I think Lydia has somewhat of a target on her back. Well, buckle up ladies because the ride has just begun.
