The Real Housewives of New York City fans… your requests have officially been answered. Last month it was revealed that original New York Housewife and now multimillion dollar entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel is returning to where it all began for her, and, like the majority of #RHONY fans, I couldn’t be happier.

The Real Housewives of New York was the first series I had ever watched in the Real Housewives franchise (more about that in a later post), and I immediately fell in love with Bethenny. From the get go she was my favourite. She was living in a one room shoebox apartment whilst the rest of the ladies flung around their name brand handbags and whilst the rest of the Housewives would discuss their social standings, the famous people they knew and how busy their social calenders were, Bethenny was seen trying to make a name for herself and create a business. She was the underdog, trying to make her way in the Big Apple and we loved her for it.

Season three was a turning point for me as a viewer of the series, as the whole Bethenny and Jill feud heated up and became the main storyline of the season. No matter what Bethenny did or said that season, I took her side, and so did many others (Sorry, Jill Zarin) and I couldn't help but be Team Bethenny even more, if that was even possible. Her popularity was undeniable, and she was the first Real Housewife to score her own spin-off… no, Jo and Slade: Date My Ex does not count, it was a “dating” show and did anybody even care about Jo or Slade that much?... Moving on.

Fast-forward four years and Bethenny has a multimillion dollar brand, a range of businesses and a number of New York Times best-selling books and she’s now returning as a New York Housewife with practically a whole new life. Gone are the days of her small apartment, trying to scrap by on the little money she had, and now she’s back with the career she worked hard for. It will be interesting to see how her life will now be depicted on camera but there’s a few things that won’t have changed… Bethenny’s amazing one liners and “no-holding-back” attitude.

And even though one particular former New York Housewife might not agree with Bethenny's return, I couldn’t be more ecstatic that my all-time favourite Housewife is back. Bethenny, it’s time to take your rightful place holding that apple. New York needed you.
