Let’s discuss The Real Housewives of Cheshire shall we??
After watching the premiere episode, I have to say, I was quite intrigued. The
UK has done well in creating their own version of the American franchise that
has not only found success in the US, but also Canada and Australia. But there
was one thing that bothered me about the episode. The Housewives’ taglines.
If you’re a Housewife fan then you know the importance of a
Housewives’ tagline. Each season, fans look forward to what the new taglines
will be for each wife. In the early seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange
County, the wives’ taglines were simply taken from the interviews each lady had
done during filming or was a snippet from a particular episode. For example,
Lauri’s original tagline was “Are the police involved?”, regarding her son’s
run in with the law. Fast forward nine seasons and the latest Orange County
taglines, like every other city in the franchise, are specifically recorded for
each new season.
However, the producers of #RHOCheshire decided to go with
the original design of using snippets from the ladies interviews to create each
tagline. If this was done in the right way, maybe fans such as myself wouldn’t
have been so bothered, but the majority of each woman’s tagline is ridiculously
long. They should be straight to the point, but these taglines are a little to…
all over the place. So below, I have put together what each Cheshire Housewife’s
tagline is, and what I think their tagline could have been, using the “snippet”
method…
Ampika
Tagline: I’m always going to get interest from the opposite sex. I’m like a snake, and when I’m done with you, I’ll discard you.
What her tagline should be: I’m like a snake. When I’m done with you, I’ll discard you.

Dawn
Tagline: I’ve got a wonderful life. I’m gobby, I’m full on, I’ll always say what I think… you’re not going to change a leopards spots.
What her tagline should be: I’ll always say what I think… you’re not going to change a leopards spots.

Lauren
Tagline: I’m a domestic goddess. I don’t listen to anything anyone tells me, because it’s all about me.

Leanne
Tagline: I married a footballer, I live in a fairly big house. I’d say it’s worked out well.
What her tagline should be: There’s no real way to improve this tagline… while I’m not in love with it, it’ll have to do.

Magali
Tagline: When you cross me, you better don’t cross me. Don’t mess with Magali.
What her tagline should be: Nothing to do here. This is the sort of tagline each woman should have.
Tagline: When you cross me, you better don’t cross me. Don’t mess with Magali.
What her tagline should be: Nothing to do here. This is the sort of tagline each woman should have.
Tanya
Tagline: I have the dream body, dream man, career – I’ve got it all.
What her tagline should be: Same as above. Another worthy tagline.

What her tagline should be: Same as above. Another worthy tagline.
So beside Magali and Tanya’s taglines there’s a little more
work to be done. Pretty much they just need to be shorter and more to the
point. I don’t blame the women, but rather the producers, who should have done
a little more homework regarding the importance of a Real Housewife’s tagline.
Until next time… Keep watching!!
